Parrish Medical Center Enhances Safety with New Metal Detector at its Main Entrance

TITUSVILLE, FLA. (July 15, 2025)—As part of Parrish Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of their patients, visitors and staff members, beginning Monday, July 21, anyone entering Parrish Medical Center’s main entrance will be required to walk through a metal detector or be scanned with a handheld device. Parrish Medical Center first introduced a walk-through metal detector on their campus in 2023 at their Emergency Department entrance.

This added layer of protection is designed to enhance the security of everyone in the hospital and uphold Parrish Healthcare’s mission of providing a safe and healing environment for all. Patients and visitors are reminded that weapons of any kind are not permitted on the premises. Parrish Medical Center’s security team will remain posted near the metal detectors and will simultaneously check all bags (purses, backpacks, briefcases, etc.) upon entry. Prohibited items must either be returned to a person’s car or be confiscated.

“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our community as we take this additional measure to ensuring the safety and security of everyone inside our hospital,” said Matthew Graybill, Assistant Vice President of Operations at Parrish Medical Center. “The safety of our patients, visitors and staff members is our highest priority.”
